The lounge

So two months in the lounge is done (just another coat or two of floor varnish). Can not believe how much it has changed.

The guest bedroom

2 months ago (or there abouts) I bought a 1930s semi detached ex-rental. I have started attacking all the rooms at once and much to my surprise the second room to be finished was the guest bedroom.

Alot of work was needed – the walls showed serious sign of their age and my Mum spent alot of time finding and filling holes from old shelves etc. The celling wallpaper was a nightmare to get off my Dad spent hours scraping it off but finally after a stressful experience with a floor sander the room was prepped.

Paint was applied and ta da one room is decorated. Furnishing it is next.

Upcycle – kitchen handles

The kitchen in my house is perfectly adequate – it is just not to my taste. I knew I couldn’t afford a new kitchen so I finally decided to spray the handles and paint the cupboards.

I used Rustoleum copper spray and Wilko primer spray.
After scrubbing the handles (which were thick with grease -yuck!) I did a double coat top and bottom with primer spray.

I then did three coats of the copper spray.

Really simple and effective – I’m not sure how long wearing this will be but it’s a long term temporary measure.
