Little Langdale Caves

Little Langdale Caves are old disused mines blown out to mine for roofing slate. They now lie disused with lots of reminders of the past.

If you look closely you can see old train tracks and old mine carts.

The caves can be reached by a pleasant 25 minute walk from the carpark which meanders through the countryside. Inside Cathedral cave is a large flooded area which currently houses goldfish!

Although the mine tracks are fenced off some people explore them and it is said you can follow the path from the surface to below water level.
